Gluten Free Bakery to Celebrate First Anniversary with After Hours Public Event

Davenport, Iowa – Life Breads Gluten Free Bakery opened in Davenport, Iowa opened almost a year ago on April 29th, 2023, with a huge public response. The bakery sold out on their opening day within two hours and continued to remain busy through the holidays. Now, Life Breads is coming up to their first anniversary and is celebrating the event on Monday, April 29th immediately after closing at 5:30 PM until 8:30 PM.

The anniversary party will feature an inflatable photo booth, balloons, limited anniversary t-shirt sales, and a DIY sprinkles workshop for their patron, refreshments, as well as the release of a new menu and announcements for new developments coming up at Life Breads.

Life Breads is a dedicated gluten-free bakery and carries absolutely no gluten-containing products or ingredients, eliminating the risk of cross contact for those who have severe sensitivities. The bakery even has a strict “No Outside Food or Drink” policy, sometimes turning potential customers away. Though this may seem extreme to some, according to general manager, Meg Reed  “We’ve had so many with severe allergies or Celiac’s come in who had just given up until we opened. I’ve cried with and hugged so many customers just because this meant so much to them. It’s everything to them and that’s why we do it.”

Over the previous year, Life Breads has already expanded their offerings with new products, such as bagels, pizza crusts, No-Rye bread, and Vegan bread. The bakery also offers hot tea and coffee. Life Breads is located at 1509 N. Harrison Street in Davenport, Iowa and will host the family-friendly event at the bakery and admission is free. Monday also kicks off the bakery’s month-long campaign to spread Celiac Awareness for May’s Celiac Awareness Month. Along with awareness ribbons, Life Breads also promotes the Quad Cities’ chapter group for the National Celiac Association. For more information, visit QCCeliacs.org.
